Youth Ministry Grades 7-12

“Young people are a volcano of life, energy, feelings, and ideas. Yet, they need help to nurture such richness in harmony. We must help them courageously face every obstacle, so they can give the best of themselves in life, according to God's plan.”

– Pope Leo XIV

Did you know that there are 8 components of Youth Ministry (YM)? Yes, 8! Youth Ministry includes more than just coming to your religious education sessions, it also includes advocacy, community life, evangelization, justice and service, leadership development, pastoral care, and prayer and worship.

These opportunities not only show the youth how to live out a Catholic Christian life through the acts of mercy, but they also create friendships and connect them to their parish and outside community. To ensure our youth are getting a comprehensive approach to youth ministry, we have established some new requirements.

YM Prayer & Service Requirements:

  • Grades 7-9 - Must complete 3 YM opportunities
  • Confirmation Candidates - Must complete 5 YM opportunities (these are already built into their Confirmation Calendar)

What are these "opportunities"?

  • Youth Minister Matt plans several prayer, service, or social events and opportunities through the Youth Ministry Office that will be shared with all. In addition, our parish ministries are extremely active and there will be more opportunities added to our calendar as the year continues to unfold that will also count towards the YM requirements.
  • Youth will select opportunities based on their interests and schedules to meet the above requirements.

Youth Ministry Group

Join our Youth Ministry Group for regular activities and events outside of our religious education sessions. This is open to our middle and high school youth as participants and adults as volunteers. Please contact Youth Minister Matt for more information if you are interested in getting involved!

There is no fee to participate in these activities, however, if you are not registered for faith formation, please be sure to reach out to Youth Minister Matt so we can have family contact information on file.
