THE SACRAMENTS OF FIRST RECONCILIATION & FIRST COMMUNION
Catholics who were baptized as infants or young children, begin their formal faith formation in Grade 1. It is in the context of this ongoing formation that they enroll in this pre-preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist in Grade 1 and make the Sacraments in Grade 2. Our Curriculum is Together in Faith First Reconciliation and First Eucharist Curriculum from Pflaum.
FIRST RECONCILIATION

As a parent/guardian, you are your child's primary religious educator. Your child watches what you do, absorbs your values, and looks to you for guidance. It is through you that your child learns to relate to God and others. Modeling for your child an openness to receiving the gift of God's unconditional love is perhaps the core of your parental responsibility. The Sacrament of Reconciliation, whether or not it is being celebrated for the first time, is a time for the family to become more fully open to the forgiving love God lavishes upon us and its power to heal and change our hearts.
2nd Grade First Reconciliation Preparation will take place during Sunday Faith Formation Classes (Sundays 9:45 – 10:45 am), beginning in September through November. The Sacrament Of First Reconciliation will be in Early December. For Guardians and Parents: Visit CatholicMom.com and check out 5 Ways to Prepare your Child for their First Confession! ![]() |

FIRST COMMUNION
“The Sacrament of the Eucharist is one of the Sacraments of Christian Initiation. The Eucharist is the ritual, sacramental action of giving thanks and praise to the Father. First Eucharist brings Catholics together to share the Body and Blood of Christ, which is the heart and summit of the Church's life. (CCC, #1407).
Immediate preparation for First Eucharist will take place during regular 2nd Grade Faith Formation classes beginning in January 2023
