Hello Grade 2 First Eucharist Parents,

Reminder: Our next First Eucharist Prep session is Sunday, February 6 @ 9:45 – 10:45 in the Parish Center.

In the meantime, in case parents want to review or reinforce at home with the online Workbook and Resources, below is the lesson your child received on this past Sunday, January 23:

1. Opening discussion question - What are some routines you have in your life?  (i.e. brushing teeth, sleeping, exercise/sports, going to school, spending time with family or friends, saying prayers at dinner or at night).  Routines help us make sure we keep our bodies and minds healthy and growing; prayer is one way to keep our spiritual life growing.
2. Pray the Hail Mary (coloring sheet completed today)
3. We read together from Blessed First Communion Workbook: Chapter 2, pages 56-57 "God's House"
4. We watched Blessed Season 8, Video 4 "Listening to God" and discussed how we know God's voice; we invited children to consider using their Mass Journal they received in the fall to help write down times they hear God's voice.  
5. We completed Blessed First Communion Workbook: page 72 of the Chapter 2 "Show What You Know" together - parents are welcome to review and discuss the questions on  page 73 that we did not have time to work on.  (Answers can be found in the Blessed First Communion Leader's Guide).
6. We watched Blessed Season 9, Video 3 "Liturgy of the Word" and discussed how every Catholic church will have the same readings at Mass, and though some things may be different you'll always know what to expect in a Mass.
7. We read together from Blessed First Communion Workbook: Chapter 3, pages 94-97 "We Believe" and the Apostle's Creed.
8. Our Father

Thank you to the families who have already sent in egg cartons.  Please continue to save your egg cartons - paper, plastic, 12 or 18 egg sizes - we will be working on a Last Supper craft in March.

• Wednesday, February 9 - First Eucharist Parent Meeting 7-8 pm - Education Center, Rm. 116 or 118 (TBA)
• Grade K-10 Circle of Grace Home Lesson - Please sign and return the Parent Authorization Form by March 15.
• Sunday, April 3 - 2 FIRST EUCHARIST RETREAT at 9:45-10:45 am in the Parish Ctr.
• Friday, April 29 - 2 REHEARSAL FIRST EUCHARIST at 5:30 pm in the OLV Church
• Saturday, April 30 - CELEBRATION OF THE SACRAMENT OF FIRST EUCHARIST at 10:00 am OLV Church

Families are encouraged to attend Sunday Mass if possible. (Masks are required). The Family Mass is at 11:15 am. The other Mass times are Saturday 4 pm and Sunday 8:15 am at OLV. Also, if there are any opportunities for you to say the Hail Mary and Our Father prayers with your children that would be very helpful!
