Sunday Gospel Background Jesus opens the eyes of a man born blind—on the Sabbath. The man’s neighbors and parents don’t share his happiness. His parents reject him, and he is expelled from the synagogue. When Jesus finds him, the blind man tells Jesus that he believes in him.
