This Committee oversees the physical plant of the parish, including purchases, new projects and ongoing maintenance. The Committee has input regarding capital improvement projects. The parish custodian is a member of this committee.

 


 Mary Alice McVeigh, mamcveigh@nycap.rr.com Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW), is an age appropriate learning experience of the weekly gospel reading for our young children ages 3 - 7 (Pre-K – Gr. 2) during our Sunday Masses.

It also assists with, and promotes, ecumenical events, such as the Thanksgiving Ecumenical Service.

Committee Connie Steinbach, (518) 339-3208, socialolvols@gmail.com Julianne Messia, (518) 312-5021, socialolvols@gmail.com This Committee plans and schedules social events for parishioners throughout the year to encourage and strengthen personal connection and community. Though its mission is not directly spiritual, it looks to plan social events which revolve around the liturgical calendar, e.g. the Palm Sunday Dinner, Strawberry Festival in June, and coffee and donut gatherings after Mass. Monthly Craft Nights are also held to provide opportunities to come together and make things for Parish events and community not-for-profit organizations.

Streaming is done on special occasions and when requested for a funeral. The need for volunteer backups is always present.

Committee Peg Cullen, mothepc@hotmail.com Members work with the Music Director to oversee the choices of music and liturgical embellishments for regular and seasonal Masses and other services. Members assist with training of the Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, lectors, and ushers and Altar Servers. With the pastor, the Committee plans liturgical events for unforeseen circumstances, such as a memorial for national disasters or emergencies.

n Committee Jonathan Fanning, jfanning@jonathanfanning.com This Committee undertakes the parish’s efforts to reach out to the “unchurched” in our area, marginal and fallen-away Catholics. The Committee works to establish and further prayer groups and liturgical devotions in the parish during Advent and Lent. Committed to fostering ongoing spiritual education and development, the Committee sponsors speakers and presentations throughout the year for growth in the spiritual life.

Care Team Mary Coleman, (518) 238-4167, mary.coleman@sphp.com This program is managed by the Eddy Alzheimer’s Services of Northeast Health. They recruit and train volunteer teams to assist parish families, providing a much needed respite to caregivers and socialization to patients. Eddy meets with the team to provide regular support and guidance. We are currently in need of volunteers, so that we can expand our services to more families in need.

It also coordinates the annual November remembrance of parishioners who passed away during the preceding year.

Members of the Committee operate the Food Pantry located at Our Lady of the Snow Parish. The annual Christmas Giving Tree and Backpack and School supplies drives are two events scheduled each year. Members interact with civic or religious outreach programs in the city to involve the parish in the corporal works of mercy.

Through this program the faith community can develop creative ways to address needs and tap in resources that nurture health, wellness and healing.

Pastoral Care - Visitation Ministry Annmarie James RN, (518) 423-0875, pastoralcareolvols@gmail.com Members provide visitation and comfort services to the parish’s elderly and shut-ins. Other services may include hospital and nursing home visits. They also assist the pastor to plan communal Anointing Services, hold regular blood drives, and plan the annual “Blue Christmas” event for parishioners who are grieving the loss of a loved one.

It oversees the implementation of “Respect Life Month” every October and other events throughout the year. It works in league with the Diocese’s Office for Respect Life and the United States Catholic Bishop’s Respect Life Office and its programs. It promotes Catholic teachings regarding respect for human life from conception to natural death.

Vocations Mary Eaton, (518) 396-6279, maryeaton10@gmail.com This Committee promotes vocational awareness in the parish through concrete programs and events. They distribute and display vocation information sent to parishes by the Diocesan vocation’s office. Promotion of vocations to the priesthood is stressed, however, the need for vocations to the Religious Life, diaconate and lay ministries is also part of the mission.
