FAST AND ABSTINENCE

Ash Wednesday Good Friday and All Fridays are days of abstinence from meat.  Ash Wednesday, Good Friday are days of fasting as well, i.e. limiting the consumption of food, not eating in-between meals, and avoiding treats. Catholics should create an individualized plan to prepare for Easter centered around the general Lenten themes of increased prayer, fasting and alms giving.

All Fridays in Lent are days of abstinence from meat.
