Seeking Baptism for yourself or your child is an important step in receving the Sacraments. This is an important step in a faith journey one that purifies and readies the individual for the next steps of their Catholic life and their life in Christ's Church.
"Through Baptism the Christian is sacramentally assimilated to Jesus, who in his own baptism anticipates his death and resurrection. The Christian must enter into this mystery of humble self-abasement and repentance, go down into the water with Jesus in order to rise with him, be reborn of water and the Spirit so as to become the Father's beloved son in the Son and "walk in newness of life": CCC 537
By bringing your child Baptism, you are deciding to raise your child as a Catholic Christian who will know, love and serve Jesus Christ as Friend and Savior. You are committing yourselves to bringing up your child in our faith and eventually enrolling him/her in formal religious instruction in our parish’s Faith Formation Program or in a parochial school. Your own example of faith and the creation of a happy Catholic home is critical to your child in these formative years. We hope that you are already formally enrolled in our parish, that you attend weekend Mass with us and that you are living your life in a Christ-centered way. We also hope that you’re connected to our parish community and are experiencing our support and fellowship.
If you are seeking Baptism for your child you must contact the Parish Office at 518-273-7602 and speak with someone who can help you with the next steps of this Sacramental process. There will be a discussion as to what you will need to prepare for the Baptism day. All Baptisms are held on the First Sunday of the Month after the Last Mass. Please refer to the times below at our two locations.
